Light leaking thru my iPhone 3G

Hey everyone i just bought my iPhone 3G about a week ago. i instantly bought a case from the company who gave me the phone and they installed it for me. not my problem is they told me to clean it once in a while on the back behind the case incase particles are around which i did just today. i noticed in the dark on the left side near the silver trim i have like 5 lines about 1cm long with light coming thru. and if i try i can push that metal towards the phone to close the gap but obviously it wont stay like that. in the dark i can also notice it thru my silicon cover which is all white it is really irritating is there anything i can do about this like return it?
