Hello guys, need your help.

I tried several times to unlock my iphone according to ATT instruction. But after everything was finished, Itunes did not tell me" Congratulations your iphone has been unlocked". I talked to ATT rep and he said Itunes does not tell if the iphone is unlocked or not. But several webpages do say itunes does tell.

The problem is, I don't know if my unlock is successful or not.

I can try a simcard from other carrier, but what if the sim card does not work? What should I do abot this?

Please geeks, come and help!

If the unlock has been processed by the carrier and the device is restored as new, iTunes will display a message about the device being unlocked.  This AT&T rep is simply confused or flat out lying to you.

 

Trying a different SIM card is a valid test, at worst the device will display an "Unsupported SIM" message.
