My iphone 4s has powered itself off on three seperate occasions all when battery has been fully charged. Still in warranty. Works fine after I press power and home buttons together. Why powering off though

My iphone 4s has powered itself off on three seperate occasions. The battery has been charged when all three incidents occured. It seems to work fine when I press and hold the power and home buttons together, but why is it powering itself off in the first instance? The device is still under warranty.

sounds like two thing somehting software or something hardware. obivious since that can be about it. try backing up your device and restoring the phone as new ( use icloud to save your contacts so you can get them back with out restoring form the back up because you wont be able to restore from the back up unless we know its hardware) and seeing if it turns itself off. if it doesnt work then you can get it replaced
