iPhone searching for service

My iPhone 4 with IOS5 keeps searching for service.

When I do reset my network setting its finds 5 bars of service but does not show network provider.

It also cannot connect calls it just says connecting and then when I end the call is just says call ending and I have to close the phone app.

How can I fix this?

Did you try to set it up as new device without using the latest backup afterwards?

Since this will erase all your data and settings, try a reset first. You will not lose data resetting your device.

Press and hold the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again.

If this does not help, you'll have to set it up as new device.
