iPhone doesnt ring when its in sleepmode

the phone rings only when the screen is on, when the phone goes either automatically or manually in sleepmode, there is no ringing.
If I happen to wake the phone during an incoming call, then the ringing starts.
What to do?

you didnt happen to hit the switch on the side of the phone and turn the ringer off did you, ah never mind miss read the post lol

just upgraded to 2.0.2, no change with the problem of not ringing.
also, text messages do not come through when the phone is in sleepmode.
frustrating.
and I still need to check if my WiFi works. (It doesnt recognize even Airport Extreme)

Same issue here. Ill go to use my phone only to find that Ive missed X number of calls...
... not a good thing...

Ive had the same problem...
