iPhone 4S uneven backlight at top

My iPhone 4S has the same issue as my old one that I got replaced a week ago. There's some leak/bleeding(please tell me what this is called) at the top of the screen. It's only noticeable on white images(most notably the status bar). Pics:

Unlike my old one, this gets worse with lower brightness. I still find it annoying, it just keeps distracting me from using apps that have a solid status bar(safari, mail etc.). I'd like to know what this is called and if anyone else has this?

what does it matter what it's called?

 

if you think there's a problem, bring your phone in for evaluation and possible replacement.
