iPhone 4s displays battery charged but battery has no charge.

My iphone 4s battery was dead, so I replaced a battery bought over internet. Now when I charge the phone ( using usb cable plugged to the power outlet on the wall) on right top corner it displays "battery is charged" (battery icon with a plug) but % of charge remains at 5%.

 

Please suggest what might have gone wrong.

I'm guessing it's a faulty battery. You might have to replace it. I would recommend a Genius Bar appointment. There might be something wrong with the algorithm if it is showing its charged fully.

I'd say that if you bought it of the internet, then it prob was riped off. But it depends. Amazon, Ebay...? You should probably get a new batery.
