The people receiving the calls can correct their contact information on their phones. But this possibly be a providor issue. I would call them first.

The name that appears on the receiver's phone when you call is determined by their contact list.  Their phone will search for your number and display the first name in the contact list that matches.  I suspect that the people reporting this to you either don't have your name listed in their contactst, or associate your number with your wife's contact.  (It would be different issue if this will happening with everyone you called.)

Is your cell phone account in your wife's name? My carrier, Verizon, has a feature that you can enable called "Share Name ID" which will include your name with the number information in Caller ID. By default, I believe the information is the account holder's name. It can be changed by logging onto the account online. Check with your carrier to see if they have such a feature.
