I verified that my iphone is unlocked with AT&T.  However, I do not get the "unlocked" message when I restore it in itunes.  Unfortunately, I managed to not preserve my baseband so I am stuck without a phone until this is resolved so I cannot call Apple to figure out what the problem is.

Update on this: managed to get ahold of apple support through my google voice account...they are attempting to blame the fact that iTunes is not showing my iphone as unlocked on my sim card.  I am currently contacting t-mobile to verify that this is not the case.
