I have a white 16GB iPhone 4 MC604B with a Vodafone SIM in India. I need to know whether it is carrier unlocked or not. I would be glad to know which country it belongs to and what carrier it has been locked to, if any. I need to know this as I wish to update to OFW without losing my unlock.
There is no way to tell whether a phone is locked by model number.
It's probably a safe bet that the phone is hacked, NOT legitimately unlocked.

Do you have an app called Cydia installed? If you do it is jailbroken and restoring will install the SIM lock again, however if it is you could be incredibly lucky in that the original carrier is Vodafone IN. If Cydia isn't there it's safe to assume it is legitimately unlocked?
How did you come to obtain the phone?

Vodafone India is NOT a supported carrier. There is no way it can be the original carrier.
