IPhone 4 Dead. Restore error 1601

I got a new iPhone 4(iOS 4.0) from UK and got it jailbreaked. It was working perfect until it died couple of days back. i tried everything (tried charging it, connected to iTunes) to bring it back to life but it wouldn't work i even called to my own number but it was ringing on the other side but nothin on the phone. i read in the internet that if u hold power button and home button simultaneously it would reset the phone, it dint work either. but next time when i connected it to iTunes it said the phones in recovery mode it needs RESTORE. i clicked restore and it said it would update to the latest firmware iOS 4.1 and restores the phone. it downloaded the update but when it comes to restoring part it says " the iPhone can not be restored, An unknown error has occured (1601)" I thought it would be the problem with my laptop and tries it on 2 other friend's laptops too but no luck. I like my phone so much and i am in desperate need for help. Thanks in advance!P.S- I live in India and i don't know, if i can even take it to Apple Store as iPhone 4 is not yet released in India. I have even tried holding Power and the Home buttons for more than 30 seconds but no use.

no harm in asking at the apple store,not sure what that error code means but luckily it aint error 1611 which is what i head,after doing a software update bricked my phone,the update killed the battery and as not enough battery update kills the phone,any normal phone you can remove the battery but on a iphone you have to take it in,had to wait 3 days for a replacement...
