Hi,
I got my iPhone 4 by a reseller. When I insert my SIM-Card (the phone has a Vodafone Net-Lock), I cannot make a call or receive a call. 3G data connection works. My SIM-Card is format Mini-SIM.
Another Vodafone SIM-Card also doesn't work in my phone. My SIM-Card works in another phone.
Something is wrong with my iPhone. I made a hard reset and updated to iOS 5.0.1 with no success. What is to do? Needs my iPhone to be reset by Apple? Is the iPhone locked because it was stolen?
Thank you in advance.
Answer from Vodafone Support Hotline:
Vodafone is not able to check the IMEI or reset the iPhone. I could wait for 24 months because then the iPhone would lose the netlock automaticly.
So I should contact the Apple Support, correct?

No iPhone gets "automagically" unlocked.
Only the carrier to whom it is locked can unlock it. Carriers only unlock iPhones at the request of the user.
Are you certain it is locked to Vodafone and not another carrier?
