I get this: Turn on cellular data or use Wi-Fi to access data
This didn't happen when i was on the Firmware that came with it. Resetting network settings or any settings doesn't work either.
My Pedometer app says: GPS is not supported by your device
Is this a joke?
Turn off cellular data and Wi-Fi.
Open the map application, does it find your location? No map will be displayed, but it should still provide the co-ordinates for the location.
If this works, the GPS is working.
If it doesn't work, then there is a hardware problem.
Thanks for the reply.
No it doesn't find my location.
And it's not a hardware problem because:
- It was working before i've updated to iOS5
- No other changes have been made
- It works if using celular data or Wi-Fi (even though these use internet, but still need GPS functions to give exact location).
Sounds like Apple has screwed up or there's something fishy that makes me use Celular Data for obvious reasons (since GPS is useless when there's no Wi-Fi around if it doesn't work any other way)
iOS 5 works perfectly fine with GPS on my and millions of other iPhone4's.
Have you tried a restore as new to rule out corruption in your backup?
Regardless, take it to Apple and let them evaluate.
