iPhone 3g sync problems in iTunes 8.1 Windows solved Please read on

I wanted to post something quick here in an attempt to help anyone else with my same problems.
I freely admit I have a jailbroken phone, and so perhaps thats part of the problem with the recent syncing problems, but ultimately I have an iPhone 3g 16gb, 2.2.1, and I tried to sync it with the 8.1.x.x and it DID NOT WORK. I constantly had a message of Verifying Prestones iPhone, and it NEVER moved forward. Restore would not work, I could not click anywhere on the page (Photos, Movies, Applications) tabs.
My fix:
I went to File Hippo and downloaded iTunes 8.0.2, uninstalled 8.1, installed 8.0.2, and when it starts up the first time, youll probably get a message that the library was built by a newer version, if so, when restarting iTunes again, hold shift, and in your iTunes music folder, go into the Previous iTunes Library, and find the most current date. (Most likely dated the date you installed 8.1) It would have copied the old library, just before making a new one for 8.1
