Hi all! So, I am really impressed with the update to the Google maps on the iPhone with the added functionality of the street view option, however there is supposed to be a Public Transit & Walking Directions feature inside the Maps application under the directions option and I am not seeing it. Anyone else having this problem? How do I get it to show up?? Please help!!!!

You need to get directions first - enter a start and end, tap Route. Then youll see the icons (car, bus, pedestrian) at the top. Note that public transportation info only available where Google Maps has that info, else the bus icon is grayed out.

The public transit and walking direction comes up in the final page in which the direction end results tell you the amount of time and distances to the destination. In other words, you have to complete the entire start to end directional route page and repress get direction...then on top of the result page you will see the three options of: transit, walking, and car! Hope this helps...

I can confirm this is not working correctly in Pittsburgh. The google transit site indicates Pittsburgh is supported and after adding to and from directions, the transit icon is still grey. Nor does it work if you go thru the google.com/transit website.
Outage on googles end maybe?
