Hi there.
Im hoping someone from Apple can answer this for me.
I have an iPhone 3G running the latest firmware.
I have a Jawbone (latest edition) Bluetooth headset, and a Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth headset in the car.
Call quality on both of these headsets is sometimes good, but mostly terrible,.
I can hear what other people say, but they cant hear me (its distorted)
(Ive tried adjusting the microphone volume to no avail).
I contacted O2 (here in the UK) and they advised me that the iPhone is only compatible with Apple Bluetooth headsets, and that although the iPhone will work with other headsets, the quality wont be great.
However, I tried a friends iPhone with both my Bluetooth headsets, and the quality was fine.
So.. do I have a dud iPhone?
And what can I do about it?
O2 refused to help because of the fact its a non-Apple headset, but if I can get an official response from Apple, perhaps that will help.
So Apple.. any response? Or.. how can I get hold of an official response from Apple?
Cheers,
Dourn.

This is a user-to-user tech support forum. Call AppleCare if youd like an answer from someone at Apple.

The iPhone will work fine with any 3rd party headset. In fact, Apple discontinued the Apple iPhone Bluetooth Headset, in other words, Apple no longer makes a Bluetooth headset. Try telling O2 that...
Call Apple or visit an Apple Store anyway - if you have a malfunctioning iPhone, its Apple that provides the service in the UK, not O2.

Works fine with my NON Apple bluetooth headset. Have you recently tried your BT with another phone for quality?

I have the same problem; everybody says I sound terrible with my iPhone 3G/Jawbone 2 combination. The Jawbone previously was paired with a Sony K850i & people couldn't believe how good it was.
Answers are needed from Apple on this - just how to get them to talk?
