Iphone 3g GPS Egypt Update

this might be the wrong place to post this ( direct me if im wrong )
Egypt has its Iphone with the GPS hardware disabled because it WAS banned.
as of last month Egypt has lifted the stupid ban on commercial gps in phones and cars.
will OS 3.0 or any sort of firmware update be direct to solve our problem and unlock our poor gps.
