Recently I have experienced Safari and plenty of other apps crashing. It is really annoying to be honest. Also it was weird that my phone just died. The screen died. My phone was ringing but nothing showed up on the screen. I could not answer my phone. I tried to use all the buttons possible to shut the phone down but it did not happen. The only way I could reset the phone was to plug the phone into my laptop. Then the screen became usable. Anyone else experience this problem????

Have you tried a reset? Holding the home and sleep/wake button (ignoring the slide to power off) Until the phone shows the Apple logo?

There are many such reports, and at least some of them are solved by a full discharge, and full recharge.
Search the forum.

After updating the Tap Tap Revenge, my iphone froze for 10mins then I restarted it but it was never the same again.
Problems:
the QWERTY keyboard seems slow to response and the letters R D X does not respond at all.upon unlocking, the slider bar does not seems to be able to slide smoothly.the flicking of pages from page 1 to page 2.
I think that a certain area of the touchscreen is not responsing.
Any ideas??

I suggest trying a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the Home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so.
If a reset does not resolve it, try removing the app from your iPhone. If removing the app resolves it, try re-installing the app.

I am having trouble getting to iTunes from my iPhone. My Wi-Fi network is a local home network connected to my ISP via a wireless DSL router. I can connect without difficulty to the network but I cannot connect to iTunes. I get the message Cannot connect to iTunes store. I am trying this with the phone in airplane mode so that it is not trying to connect through the 3G network. My iPod Touch does not suffer from this problem. Can any one explain what is going on?

Hey Doug,
Whats the iPhones IP address after joining the Wi-Fi network? Just tap Settings> Wi-Fi> tap the blue (>) next to your checked network.
If the iPhone has a 169.254.x.x IP address, its not going to be able to connect to the Internet over the Wi-Fi network. This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA26003 provides more detailed information.
What type of wireless security is being used on the Wi-Fi network? How many characters are in the network password? If youre using WEP, youll want to use a 5 or 13 character password. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1344
You can find more general Wi-Fi troubleshooting tips here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

Hi Jason,
I have solved the problem. I dropped the network and then reselected it. I put in my WEP password and everything is now OK. The IP address of the iPhone was not the same as the touch. They are now both the same. Thanks for your suggestion as it is exactly what I ended up doing.

Heres my list. How about you?
1 - Cut & Paste
2 - Email MUST be more reliable
3 - Get 3G and Edge to work better together. if 3G has no service, it should go to Edge much better than it does now
4 - Make Notes & Todos full class citizens
5 - Turn by turn GPS
6 - Fix the lag in Contacts (it was WAY better in 1.1.4)
7 - More stability, less crashing & lockups overall
8 - An option for a combined email inbox
9 - The ability to Save or email voicemail messages
10 - App store should be able to Update All again
Oh, sorry...one more...
11 - MMS already (and guys, dont go there about it being old technology or I should have known before I bought it...every phone should has it except the iPhone)
I cant believe that Apple has let this go out this buggy. Honestly, 1.1.4 was WAY better.

Dear RestlessFOOL,
My list was about the current (and below Apple-par) buggy software and missing features. It was not about something that I missed in the manual.
Oh, and one more thing...dude, lighten up.

I know this was an issue early on for most people when 2.0 was first introduced. However I havent seen any posts about the problem in a while. I can only assume that the updates have fixed the problem for everyone but me. My browser crashes at leas 2-3 times per day. I am up to date with 2.1, I turn the phone off at least once every 24hrs, Im not using the ipod at the time of the crash and I have recently performed a hard reset through itunes and Nothing has worked. I am overall very happy with my 3G, and everything else seems to be working fine, with just a few glitches here and there. Just wondering if anyone else out there is having this problem...

The current Safari version on the iPhone has problems in this regard - I believe it is a problem with JavaScript and probably with memory leaks.
The following should help - at least for a little while.
With Safari available, press and hold the Home button for 6 seconds or so until your iPhone returns to the Home screen. This quits the application.
Go to Settings > Safari.
Select Clear History, Clear Cookies, and Clear Cache.
Follow this by doing a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the Home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so.

Thanks, I have tried clearing everything and I have tried the reset, but I havent tried it in that exact order. I just followed your directions exactly and I will let you know how it goes in a day or so.

Go here and let them know your issue. Will they listen? Probably not since we havent heard a thing about this problem from Apple. So to them, there is no issue with Safari. Go ahead and post anyway, maybe someone who cares will read it and bring it up on their next meeting every Tuesday or something like that.
