As Apple promised in early October, the company has posted an updated Software Developer Kit (iPhone SDK) Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) which allows iPhone application developers to more openly discuss their development plans. In order to facilitate such discussion, Apple has also opened a forum especially for iPhone developers.

I was using my Iphone earlier while it was plugged into a usb port on my computer and the bezel keeps shocking me(Enough that it hurts if your ear hits it while making a phone call)
Guess Ill just take it back to ATT monday and not plug it in anymore till then
Was just curious if anyone else had run into this issue with theirs

Havent seen that issue in any of the forums -- but it sounds like a short in your iPhone 3G. The antenna is inside the bezel that surrounds the iPhone -- sounds like something is defective.
ATT by the way will NOT even look at it -- you have to take it to an Apple store for repair (they will most likely swap it out with a new one, but ATT will not).

As already provided, at&t does not handle any iPhone repairs or exchanges under warranty.
If you dont live near an Apple Store, this can be handled over the phone by calling AppleCare at (800) 694-7466.

I am getting shocked by my iPhone as well, either through the headphones or whenever I touch the bezel. It seems to happen mostly when its plugged in via USB to my laptop on my desk, but has also happened while Im walking around with the iPhone in my pocket and the headset on. It definitely zaps and Im not getting static shocks from anything else in my environment. OP, did you get your phone replaced?

On occasion Ive gotten shocked as well from my iPhone.
has happened with three different Gen1s, always when connected chrome bezel will emit small electric shocks and yes, tickle and sting the skin. (Funny, I thought it was pulling my facial hair at first).

My wife had her iPhone in her pocket and was carrying on a phone conversation via her earbuds when she got shocked four quick times in a row. She said the bursts came from the earbuds and zapped her ears.
She said it was painful and disconcerting. One more crap thing to deal with.

App store is a neat idea, except....how much does apple really screen these apps? I downloaded an app that with a switch of an on/off button will copy and send your entire contacts to their server to do what ever they want with. The developer says its so you can see which of your contacts also has the program, which is complete nonsense. If my contacts have the app, Id already know about it. They are just basically stealing your contacts info for marketing, spam, identity stealing, etc, if you turn this feature on. I was not stupid enough to turn this on and promptly deleted the app. But how many unsuspecting people did turn it on. How can apple allow apps to make it to the store that have the ability to upload your contacts to a server? ALL personal info on the iphone should be blocked at the OS level. Access to your contacts, email, texts, and wifi info, should be strictly forbidden and any app that has this ability should be denied entry into the app store. Whos to say that since developers can implement such things that they dont just setup their app to automatically upload all your personal info, by simply launching the app?(without your consent or even knowing) But alas we know the real truth, apple is more concerned about making money than satisfying new customers. iphone is my first apple product and probably my last. They just dont get it. At least Microsoft tries to fight this stuff. The potential to sway windows users over to apple was enormous but apple dropped the ball again. So now how can I trust any apps in the entire store? Basically you cant, you just have to hope and pray or stop using the app store. And without the app store this is just an ipod that has inferior phone/texting features. Totally bummed here.
Also there are apps that have ads in them. How can apple let these thru? Especially on edge. Ads in an app, come on get real. If the developers want money for their effort they should make a pay version. Ads should not be allowed in apps either.
Agree, disagree, words of wisdom? Im not slamming the phone, its cool, just deeply concerned now.

I agree with everything you say here, but I doubt your voice will be heard for too long. As anything that goes against the way apple runs is deleted here. Apple doesnt seam to listen, how many here have voiced issues to the feedback line and have had them heard? How many people have voiced their issues here and have had the deleted?
Its either apples way or the highway, Apple is not interested in what you and I have to say, they have got their money for their product, and thats it. Like many other post voicing the concerns of apps, and upgrades that are really down grades, ill expect this post to be removed for some breach too.
This will most likely be my last apple product purchase as I dont agree with the control apple has and the forcing user to take what they given, and not listen to what we the customer wants. (And they say Microsoft is bad and monopolized the market, at least they listened to their customers and gave the the feedom to do what they liked.)

Why shouldnt an App have ads especially if you are using it for free? The developer deserves to be compensated.
No one makes you download any app or use any WebApp. Thats up to you. If a particular app bothers you, dont use it.

Are these ads restricted or controlled? Whats to stop young kids downloading a free app, and being exposed to advertising not suitable to their age group?
Yeah they probably shouldnt have downloaded the free app anyway, no restriction their either.

Hey guys,
I also discovered the light leak problem on my 3G and I am waiting for the empty box shipped to me (Apple repair process). But I am asking myself if this makes sense as I fear that the replacement device would have the same problem. So my question is: is the light leak problem solved? Does Apple produce iPhones without the light leak? And if I get a replacement device, would it be a refurbished one or a new one?
Best wishes!

I have a week 35 phone with no light leaks. From reading elsewhere here, I never thought the leaks affected many people.
