As Apple promised in early October, the company has posted an updated Software Developer Kit (iPhone SDK) Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) which allows iPhone application developers to more openly discuss their development plans. In order to facilitate such discussion, Apple has also opened a forum especially for iPhone developers.

I dont have a 3G but this has happened to me. Did you recently download the latest version of Itunes? My phone got stuck so I had to remove each and every program associated with itunes (including restart in between each one) and then download itunes again to restore my phone.
Also, if you have a antivirus program, turn that off as when it restores, this may be what is causing it to get stuck. Good luck

thats nonsense , just put your ipod touch into dfu mode by holding the sleep/wake button and home button for 10 seconds, then let go of the sleep/wake button (make sure it is connected to your computer) and continue to hold the home button for 10 to 15 seconds or until itunes reads it as an ipod touch in recovery mode that needs to be restored, if you need more help on this just go to youtube and type in dfu mode in the search field

The new possibility to switch auto-correction on and off is very useful, especially if you write in more than one language.
One other step would also be very user friendly for writing, making life easier: a mode to get larger characters on the keyboard if needed. This may be possible if the keyboard with larger characters could be selected in the landscape mode for writing (i.e.like changing the calculator between standard and scientific mode).
Beside Drag & Drop is such an improvement for writing may be possible in firmware 2.3 ? What is Apple`s oppinion?

Well, Apple has just released iPhone OS v2.2.
But, perhaps some context would help. How did you receive this message? Via email? Via telepathy?
Or, as I suspect, via an Apple mailing list? If so, its just a standard notification when any update with Security Content is released.
You can see the announcement on Apples mailing list site:

I just asked a question. If I had been telepathic I would probably not needed to post. The link was sent to me by a friend working in a network security company.

Besides the attempt at morning humor above, did that clarify the issue?

Somehow, having installed the 2.2 firmware, I still have the old version of Google Maps. How did that happen? The update was definitely installed--I can see changes in the iTunes program and in Safari, and Settings/General/About shows that I have 2.2, but Google Maps is the same as it was before. Is there something Im missing?

2.2 looks to be another good update.
But when are we going to be able to listen to streamed content like we can on our Mac?
The iPhone is an almost perfect device that features, the iPod, YouTube, Internet, Safari, Podcasts, Videos and more.
Why cant we easily listen to streamed audio that is free and/or what we subscribe and pay for?
I know there are many apps out there, but none carry allow us the listen to the stream of our choice like we can do on our Macs
When will the iPhone be iPerfect?

As far as Flash, it is up to Adobe to design a plug in and submit it to Apple for approval.
As far as streamed audio, its up to the provider to provide it in a format recognized on the iPhone.
