This guide will teach you how to unlock your iPhone 3G/3GS running 3.0 firmware using ultrasn0w.

  • Step 1
I strongly recommend you backup your iPhone via iTunes BEFORE you begin this guide.

  • Step 2

Upgraded your iphone 3G/3GS to 3.0 firmware via iTunes, jailbreak the iphone using redsn0w, install cydia or icy.

  • Step 3

After your iPhone is jailbroken and installled either cydia or icy, run cydia or icy, add the repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to cydia or icy. Search for “ultrasn0w” and install it. Reboot your iPhone. Your iPhone is unlocked and you are done.

My iPhone 3G (which I had unlocked by O2 a few months back) works fantastic when I have a 3G signal - which is great because 99% of the time I do. However, on Edge or GPRS it doesnt let me go online at all, and says Cannot activate cellular data network - the APN is correct and I have confirmed this multiple times.
Im using a Three SIM card, and havent had a chance to test with any other card yet - but it certainly worked before anyway, even with my Three SIM at one point.
Is this likely to be a fault on my phone or my network? I can receive/make calls and send/receive texts just fine on GPRS or Edge, but I cannot use the Internet at all.

I have a bunch of applications that I no longer want on my iPhone or in my iTunes library. Any idea how I can delete them?

    Hello,
Will an Apple Iphone 3g charge from a Powered USB Hub while the computer is sleeping?
I have a Motorola SLVR L7, two BCK-08 Bluetooth Stereo Headsets and two iPower Secondary iPhone batteries that all charge from my Powered USB Hub while my main computer is sleeping.

It would seem that my iPhone 3g will not charge from a Powered USB Hub while the computer attached to it is sleeping?
Is there any way to get an Iphone 3g to charge from a PoWeReD UsB HuB while the computer it is attached to is sleeping?
Im thinking in terms of greening things ... but this is making me leave a 170 Watt computer running while I sleep ... I dont use the computer much while asleep ...
    Thanks for your time,
    Bobby

The iPhone isnt really designed to sync or charge from a USB hub. It does work with some but not others.
If you want to be green, charge using the included AC adapter.

Thanks for the help Tamara ...
So youre saying plug it in to the AC adapter until I wake up and then plug it into the computer before I get ready for work ... plugging it in twice a day ...
Do you know which powered usb hubs might work in the way I want?
(Ive tried three brands so far APC, Connectland and Belkin)
It Syncs and Charges through all hubs properly when the computer is awake ...
all my other devices will charge from the powered USB Hubs while the computer is sleeping ...
and I only want it to charge while the computer is sleeping ...
syncing requires the computers to be awake ... I know ...
and then when I get up for work ...
hit the power button to get the computer to resume from standby/hibernate and start syncing all those live updating playlists and podcasts
Until Apple Supports WiFi Sync with iTunes the AC adapter doesnt help with the last part
Sorry for the grumbling ... I have multiple devices that will charge from any of my powered USB hubs ... its just the iPhone that wont
I guess the iPhone isnt a conviently green apple yet

I have a powered hub that I bought several years ago. I cant find the Brand Name on it, but I believe I picked it up at Tiger. The only label I see on it is USB 2.0.4-port hub. I have used it for my synch and battery charge doc, without any problems. it works just as if the doc were plugged directly into my computer.
I had another hub that I got at Staples, that would NOT work, for some reason. I threw it away. As I recall, it was a Belkin, but I cant swear to that.
But, my current, trusty hub, seems to work just fine.
