I have an iphone 4 which I iMessage on using my apple id.

I bought my cousin an ipod touch which I put under the same apple id.

does this mean that she will be receiving all of my messages on her ipod now?

Yes.  If you want it separate you will need to create a different apple id for you cousin.

Yep. You don't want to do that. Create her own Apple ID & use that for iMessage, Find My Touch, etc. Needs to be a verifiable email address:

so is there anyway to delete those messages off of her ipod without actually getting on her ipod? for example, if I were to delete them on my phone, would it delete them on her ipod too?

Yep. Just turn iMessage off on her touch & set it up again with her new ID.
