iMessage not working 5.1.1 iPhone

Updated Iphone 4 to OS 5.1.1 and iMessage / Facetime are no longer working. Any iphone data cannot be recieved or sent. Other iphones are not reconizing this as an iphone (Sent messages are SMS not imessage to phone). These are not working on WIFI or network data.

 

I have restored the phone twice now, no go.

 

The activation has been verified for both Facetime / imessage

 

I have removed any other devices from the apple ID (there was a itouch also using that ID, I thought it was stealing the Iphone data)

 

I have soft reset multiple times

 

I have reset the network and carrier data.

 

I have turned On/off facetime/imessage, I have turned on off WIFI/3G in mutliple different ways.

 

Any other idea's? or is this a Apple screw up.

How is this Apple screw up?

 

I've updated my phone - and didn't have any problems with facetime or imessage?

 

When imessage is unavailable it will send it as a SMS text as stated here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3529

I have also tried reseting the time/date (auto on/off)

 

I have tried changing the DNS on WIFI to 8.8.8.8, no different. (again, doesn't work with WIFI off or on)

I have tried all the same things and mine isn't working either. Does anyone know how to fix this?

THIS WORKED FOR ME, IS THE ONLY SOLUTION. I tried other solutions that didn't worked at all, like:

 

-Changing my wifi's DNS to 8.8.8.8

-Setting my timezone to automatic

-Changing my timezone

-Making a new apple id

-Updating "my info" with my own contact, and making sure my number was set as "iPhone"

 

The only thing that worked for me was making a FRESH download of my iOS and making a full restore. I tried restoring my iPhone and it didn't worked, untill a made a new download of the iOS and configured as New iPhone. After that, make a restore from your bakcup.

 

iMessage should work within a few minutes (2 or 3) and none of your data will be lost.

 

This worked for me on a iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.1.1
