iMessage Malfunction iPhone

My cousins use to have iPhones, before they switched to us cellular. They still kept their original numbers, now when I try to text them, it still goes to iMessage, and they don't receive the texts. I'd like to fix this without turning iMessage off, because I do have other friends who I use iMessage with. Help me please?!?!

Tell them to try this - unregister their iPhones. 

 

Go to https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do

Log in

Click on "edit products"

Click on the "x" to the right of the product

Click "unregister"
