I've tried signing in and out and rebooting. My old apple id keeps showing up, but none of my previous/current passwords are working! It won't let me update any of my apps and i've signed in and out of the app store itself with my new apple id and it works and goes through, but the old one keeps showing up in the little box that pops up requiring you to type your password in to update them. SO FRUSTRATING. HELP PLEASE!!

Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to obtain them. They cannot be transferred to another Apple ID, nor can they be updated using any ID other than the one used to originally obtain them. If the apps you're trying to update were obtained with a different ID than your current one, you have no choice but to use that ID.
