i have a iphone bought in canada but its not yet been activated . i want to unlock this phone . but to request unlock i cant find any operator registered with this iphone and in settings-about .. when i check here there is no information in carrier tab . . wat should i do to unlock my phone

You'll have to ask the person who sold it to your which carrier (operator) it is locked to.  You then have to contact that carrier (operator) to see if they will authorize it to be unlocked.  Not all carriers (operators) authorize unlocking; when/if you find out which one your phone is locked to you can check to list to see if the do: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937.

you cant unlock a iphone. they are unlockable for any carrier. unless the iphone is a unlocked iphone that you purchased from apple.

the person who i bought it from doesnt know which carrier to .. but i checked the phone's status its telling that the phone has not yet been activated
