I have restarted device several times. Have unplugged wireless several times. Have done everything Apple has stated to do on their trouble shooting page. Have called Apple seeking advice. Was told for 35 bucks they can help over the phone or choose the free email. I chose the free method and followed what they suggested! Still nothing. I am incensed that they want 700 dollars for this POS and then want 35 bucks for verbal customer service!! I will never purchase another Apple product again if this does not get resolved. I am so disappointed. Then to be told that "for a fee" I can get verbal help. I was told my product warrantee has expired,  I wonder if it expired as soon as I had issues. I am fed up! Looking for window to throw this out of or place it where an automobile is backing up.  I would like the last week of my life back spent trying to fix this hunk a junk!! Oh, they had no problems before taking my money for songs and apps! Why can't they help fix this issue!!

Stop crying about it. You were made fully aware of the AppleCare protection plan when you purchase an Apple product. If you are outside your 90 days for phone support, then you need to get a protection plan to extend that if you want phone support. Simple. $35 for a single incident is decent since I charge $45/hour for troubleshooting.

If you are that concerned take it into an Apple Store and they might possibly have the time to look at it with you.

Otherwise at this point since your troubleshooting steps have been vague I'm going to point you here:

Odds are the NEW apple security, which is stupid, is stopping you from connecting to the app store.  Did I mention the security is stupid?  First you need 2 different email addresses, then you have to provide enough info that you think your identity is being stollen, every few months because they lick your account making you change your password.  By the way, did I mention how really f'ing stupid the app store security is?  Every time i can't even do a simple app update, because of how stupid this security is, I complain to my carrier (maybe enough complaints will help, but I doubt it).

What is complaing to your carrier going to do? Do you know how stupid you are for complaining to your carrier? They are completely separate from Apple and have no pull over Apple policy or security.

To the OP: You are not eligible for tech support over the phone. Apple policy gives you 90 days of free tech support, from date of purchase, over the phone. The choice is yours to extend that support by purchasing the AppleCare Protection Plan. Don't like the policy? Don't buy an iPhone. Also, your device came with a 1-year warranty so it didn't randomly "expire" once you had an issue.

Some iOS users just don't have a clue.
