I have 1 text message will not delete iPhone

When I delete it, it shows that it deleted the message but when I go back into Messages it shows back up.  It says that its from unknown and when you open it up it is blank.  If you try to input text and hit send the app closes like it crashed.

Have you performed a hard reset to try and cure this?
