I cannot activate my iphone I tried the steps in the support, the error message I get is There is no SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate.
Where did you get this iPhone and where are you attempting to activate it? Is it safe to assume that there is a SIM card installed?
In order to activate your iPhone service you need to call your service provider. If you are trying to activate a new iPhone you should probably activate your SIM first and then try to access iTunes f this problem persists you should give a little more details about your problem so we can solve this effeciently.

No need to do that, but you do need a SIM card from the carrier you're activating with and limitied to that carrier if carrier locked.
Sounds like your phone was previously hacked to carrier unlock, and when you updated the iOS, it became re-locked to the original carrier. It will now only work with the carrier to which it was originally locked.
