Apparently the "motherboard" may be a problem. I have taken my phone to several shops. The only places in Qatar that seemed to be able to help was a small little "Vodafone" shop in the Villagio Mall or a run-down villa in Al Sadd. However, they both said that they can't help me because I did not get the phone from them.
Despite the "International Warranty" it appears that Apple seriously expects their customers to buy a ticket back to the country of origin (in my case South Africa) just to claim a warranty for their Apple Products?!
Any suggestions please?
iPhone warranty is not international. You will have to return the
iPhone to South Africa for repair/replacement. You can do so
personally or send to friend/relative there for them to take in
to Apple and then they can ship back to you - all at your
expense. Apple does not accept shipments from outside the
country for repair/replacement nor will Apple ship to address
outside South Africa after repair/replacement.
