How can I delete podcast thats only on my iPhone not synced from iTunes.

I have two podcast episodes that will not delete from my iPhone. They are from a show that I update (by syncing) everyday and appear on the iPhone (since October) but will not erase or appear on iTunes. Can I delete them straight from the iPhone or do I need to connect it with iTunes to delete? It is more of a nuisance than anything else. Thanks for the help.

Podcasts and well as video transferred from your iTunes library - movies and tv shows can be deleted direct from an iPhone.
Swipe across the podcast to bring up the red delete button.

Yes, you can delete from iphone:

Delete a podcast: In the Podcasts list in iPod, swipe left or right over the podcast, then
tap Delete.
