I bought an iphone in germany but it has been activated to a german network however i need it to work with my uk network,would it work if i unblocked it?

Apple (like Samsung, Nokia, HTC, Motorola) manufactures phones. CARRIERS lock them.

CARRIERS are the ones to UNLOCK them, not the manufacturer.

Correct:

ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can unlock it. You would have to ask them if they offer this service.

the phone was bought second hand in a mobile shop in germany but i live in the uk so basically this phone was a waste of money?
