I have a iPhone 4 and it froze on me over two hours ago. I cannot power it off nor can I stop the application I was on to stop trying to connect can anyone tell me what to do ? Thanks

Try to reset your phone: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignore the off slider that appears first), then release.  You won't lose any data by doing this.
