My wife got a new IPhone 4S with Facetime. We use my Macbook to sync my IPhone 3Gs and her phone with Itunes. I noticed that I got a Facetime app on my phone with some others when she started downloading apps. I thought it was an app she downloaded with her other apps so I deleted it along with some others on my phone because it should not work on an IPhone 3Gs. But by doing so, somehow hers got deleted too--however going into individual contacts in the Phone setting she can still access Facetime--we just used it on her new IPad 2, works very nice.
However, how do I get the app symbol back on her IPhone 4s--or even my IPhone 3Gs (although it still might not work on my phone, I just never even tried it)?
There is no App or App icon for FaceTime. FaceTime is built-in in iPhone 4S.
But you can buy FaceTime App for your Mac.
As stated, there is not, and never has been a FaceTime "App" on the iPhone 4 or 4S. It is accessed through contacts. That's it. I have no idea what you think you saw before, but it was not FaceTime. Now... that said, the iPod Touch and iPad 2 DO have a facetime app... or did anyway.
