AS per the title, what can i do to stop this?

If you haven't already done so, try turning iMessage off, wait a minute or two, then turn back on. Confirm that it shows your correct number in Settings>Messages>Receive At.

Also; Take your Apple ID out of iMessage, that may be how they're still messaging you

Reply something about Changed number due to abusive calls yet still receiving Imessages from someone who doenst have new number iPhone or Post a New Thread
