I work on a construction sites all around Indiana. Well most of these sites do not have very good signal... Or you walk to one spot and it goes up to 2 or 1 bar then the next is no signal...
Everyday for lunch we sit in truck and txt/surf internet/make calls. Well is there any product out there that is worth a darn to boost the signal for the iphone.. even on edge or anything? Maybe some antenna we can mount on the truck and it will boost signal for at least the cab or a direct plug into phone?
Most of these calls are important business calls so cost is not a huge factor... but less $ is always better ha

I worked for Best Buy for over 2 years and in all that time I never heard of or saw anything that actually worked for boosting a cell signal (at least not anything cheap).
Sorry, but it would appear that youre at the mercy of AT&Ts towers (or lack of towers).

Depending on how much you really need to use the device in that bad coverage area...you could buy a signal repeater for AT&T and use a power inverter in the car to power it...this will 100% work...
That said...they are not really cheap...about 250-325 on eBay new...but again it is a 100% fix just not cheap...
Something like a Wi-Ex zBoost YX510-PCS/CEL Wireless Extender...you can search that on eBay for current pricing

There is a direct plug in booster with an external antenna now.
Ive been happy with the Zboost, too, but I got a 20% discount before I would buy it. They are still expensive and too easy to steal from your car.
zBoost is sold at http://www.wi-ex.com/ uses external antenna, a clunky box, and cigarette lighter plug. This is the first generation solution, modeled after indoor house units.

Dual Band Booster Solution Kit for iPhone with 24inches magnetic mount antenna. That tall antenna may be a problem for some cars.$249.99
or

Wilson 805201 iBooster http://www.powerfulsignal.com $243 and uses a cradle.
But, whatever you buy and use, PLEASE report your results. I cant find any kind of comparison testing (like Consumer Reports).
Unlike analog radios, the boosters dont make anything louder. Instead, you should see a strong signal all the time (3 or 4 bars), longer battery life (because you phone doesnt have to transmit very far) and fewer dropped calls.
With all the new 3G phones, the cell systems are quickly getting overloaded. They were not prepared for such high demand and most arent investing in new cell towers. Instead, they are trying to buy out the upstarts and merge, resulting in FEWER towers in operation.
Also, AT&T was getting ready to sell a Cisco cell phone repeater (booster), but stopped for some reason. The web pages got out by mistake and they would not comment further.

This is the smallest booster Ive seen.
Its new and appears to plug into the iPhone directly.
Please let us know what your experience is, should you buy one and try it out.

Try www.Unwiredsignal.com Wilson Electronics Dual Band Wireless Mobile Kit 801201 B its about 340 but its most definately worth it. I have one in my vehicle and I am constantly driving from Houston to Dallas and its great for those spotty rural areas. Always have some sort of signal when I'm driving! go to their website and check it out.. see if its right for you too.
