Hello

 

I tried to update my iphone 4 with itunes to ios 5, but itunes says i have the newest version 4.3.3 (8j2), which isn't true of course. Sometimes itunes stays in "thinking" mode for hours and does nothing. I have the newest version of itunes (10.6). I can't update it OTA because i don't have the software button in general settings (which is normal for ios 4.3.3, i read). I searched the forum for an answer but didn't find it. I use windows 7 btw, i also tried switching firewalls off. Some help would be welcome, thank you

Has the device ever been jailbroken?

Check the hosts file on your computer and remove any entries for gs.apple.com.

i've checked the host files, nothing referring to apple. The device has never been jailbroken...

Is there something else i can do?
