Cant update iPhone 3G

Have tried 7 times to update to this 3.0 thing.
Every single time i have plugged in my phone, clicked all the yes and agree buttons - download starts i wait 80mins for it to get to 230mb of 230.1mb and then it stops at 2 seconds to go and an error thing comes up saying there are netwrok problems and it was a failure. What is going on?!?!
