Cannot sync iPhoto albums to iPhone 3G

Ive seen a lot of posts where iPhoto doesnt get photos from iPhones, but not the other way around... heres my scoop:
OS 3.1.2
Organized all of my photos into folders in iPhoto and when given the option of keeping originals or deleting, I deleted.
My photos still live in iPhoto and Ive checked Sync Photos from iPhoto and checked the boxes by the folders that I want on my phone in iTunes and nada. No photos added to my phone.
Ive restarted my phone, Ive unchecked Sync Photos and synced my phone and then re-checked Sync Photos and re-synced my phone, and still it does not copy to my phone.
Please. Help. Me.
