cannot connect to iTunes store iPhone 3G

I've had that error message for the last few days, and need to update about 27 apps at that stage...
The funny thing is that I can download a new app no problem, but cannot update old ones... Not sure why it wants to connect the iTunes store though as it should connet to the app store right?
I've tried all what I could find on the forums, enable/disable restrictions, check country and time, disconnect wifi, and a reset... nothing worked.
Please heeeeeelp

#2Do you get an error message stating for a certain app that the file size is too big and you need to connect to Itunes? If so you'll need to update the app on your PC then sync your phone.

#5First Sign Out of your Account... Settings > Store > Apple ID
Close all Open Apps and perform a Reset:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
