Can Recents display name and number iPhone

Is there a way to configure the Phone App so that the list of recent calls display the name of the caller, as well? Who can identify a phone number these days!?

I had to add the number of the calling person as forwarded by the calling phone into my contact list. It seems the iphone will only recognize incoming calls if your number in the contact matches exactly the number given by the calling phone. Now everytime a listed contact displays the name in the recent call list.

OK, So if my telco operator sends caller ID without country code, and I have been a good boy and entered all my phone numbers as the global MSISDN standard (+<contry code><Number with area code minus the first zero>), it will not work? Weird!
Is there any hacks out there that can remedy this bug?

Which country are you in? All my contacts are store in international MSISDN format and they come up with the name. I have an Australian iPhone in Australia.
