iMessage is not working to my husband number. We both have the iPhone 4 on orange network but when I select to send him a message to his phone number it only ever sends as a text message, not iMessage. I can send as iMessage if I select his email address instead or if I respond to a message from him.
We have checked the settings and both are the same.
Does anyone know what could be the problem?
Is you husband's number listed on his phone in Settings>Messages>Receive At?
If so, then are both phones registered with Apple with the same Apple ID by any chance? If so, unregister one of the phones by doing the following:
Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.doLog in if not already logged in.Click on ">" to the right of the phone listingClick "unregister"
Then re-register this phone with a different Apple ID here: https://register.apple.com/. See if that changes things (you may have to turn iMessage off, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on on this phone).
