Camera stopped working iPhone 4

I have a iPhone 4 with 5.1.1 software, I just got it as a replacement from an apple shop 2 weeks ago. The camera has stopped working both front and back, it just stays on the closed shutter when I press on camera.

Wierd thing though the front camera works through the twitter app..

Any suggestions?

I have had this same problem before unfortunately, the onle way i found to fix this was to completely restore in itunes.

Bit of a nightmare as I dont live near an apple shop.

Restoring it in itunes..does that wipe it?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the problem is resolved.

Only a restore as new wipe's the device.
