I live in the Husdon Valley area in New York and have a 3G iPhone running on 4.1 and for the last week, it seems that when Im home (in an Edge network) I cannot receive any phone calls and when I try to make a call it will go for about 20 seconds and then pop up on the screen that the call failed. Ive been told (through texts) that my phone will ring once for the person trying to call me and either go straight to voicemail or theyll get a busy signal but the phone isnt ringing at all on my end and I wont even know they called unless they text and tell me or leave a voicemail.
I have tried restoring my phone back to factory settings and then retrieving my information from a back up as well as reseting the network settings on my phone, going into airplane mode for 30 seconds and then turning it off as well as turning off 3G while at my house (even though I dont have it) and they all seem to do the trick for about 10-15 minutes and then the no calls seem to start again. Where I work is a 3G area and this problem doesnt seem to happen there, I can make and receive calls fine.
Ive also noticed that text messages are coming in anywhere from 2-8 minutes after the person sent them.
Ive tried the Live AT&T support chat and they tell me that my house (where the problem is mainly happening) is in a good service area and that they dont really understand why my phone is showing full bars of service yet my calls are not coming through, that theyll send out an incident report and if its still continuing 48 hours later to try to troubleshoot again.
I just want to know if this is happening to anyone else. It happened the last week in September for a week and now 2 weeks later here we are again. I dont pay this much money for a service to not be able to use it when Im at home, with full bars registering on my phone.
