I have gotten my Bluetooth Sony headset (DR-BT140Q) and a set of bluetooth speakers with phone function built-in that is sold by Softbank in Japan (SBS-BTSKT01/WH). To ALMOST work perfectly with my new iPhone 3GS. The biggest problem is that the skip forward and skip back function doesnt work.
Also although I can get the redial last number called function to work and can have a phone call come in and the music go down, answer the call, and talk on the internal mics in each of the products, I cannot get them to allow me to do do voice control/dialing (Both external devices support A2DP, AVRCP, HSP, and HFP profiles)
It would be really great if Apple supported the ability to skip or go back on tracks and use the voice control with future 3.0 upgrades.
I read in the article at
http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/what-to-expect-stereo-bluetooth-iphone-3g-with-iphone-os-30/ that this is just how things are at this point but it would be really great if Apple supported the ability to skip or go back on tracks and use the voice control with future 3.0 upgrades.

My company, Eventual Innovations, just released an app today called "Bluetooth Helper" that works around the issue where the iPhone doesn't let you skip tracks.
If you have a Bluetooth control device (headset, etc.) that can Play and Pause tracks on your iPhone / iPod Touch, Bluetooth Helper will now let you skip tracks or seek within a track.
It's very simple to use. Tap Play/Pause twice to skip to the next track; tap it three times to skip to the previous track.
Bluetooth Helper is $0.99 on the app store. Take a look. The next version (which has already been submitted to Apple), will let you create and select playlists from inside the app, just to make things easier.
Hope you enjoy it and I'd love to hear any feedback you may have!
