Battery Symbol Showing Full All Of Time iPhone 3G

Reply Topic I charged my phone up yesterday and it was used all day but even in the night it was showing 100%.
After about 13 hours of displaying full charge the phone turned itself off as the battery was flat ??
Obviously there is a problem with the battery symbol, any help appreciated.
I have tried a reboot but to no avail.
What about a full restore ?
