Battery Life Significantly Reduced Since Installing iphone 2.1 software

Since downloading new software update on my iphone (I have the original, not the 3G), the battery life has reduced to a matter of 4 hours or so, even when I switch off WiFi and PUSH mode. Any idea why this might be?

I have the same problem except I am have a 3g. Anyone else having similar issues?

My battery is also significantly worse, I can see what the problem is for me, but cannot fix it
For me Usage and Standby times are now identical and so the battery drains very fast (was ok before updating this morning)

Lets hope Steve and the rest at apple read these posts - since updating my 3G iphone to 2.1 Im lucky if I get 24hrs out of a single battery charge, prior to updating I was getting just on 2 days of stand-by time between charges

Im glad Im not the only one. I have a 16GB white 3G, and my battery life has gone from a couple of days between charges down to less than a day--even with 3G turned off.

MY original 8GB iPhones battery life is way better with OS 2.1.
I just dropped to 33% charge after 36 hours without charging! I have 3 e-mail accounts turned on, and MobileMe push enabled. Before 2.1 I would have been dead at the 8 hour mark.
I suspect its your phones uniqueness, perhaps one of your settings, or an angry application.
