Battery bypass iPhone 4

So when I am at work I plug my iPhone into my computer and listen to podcasts etc. with the phone being plugged in. The question I have is, will this effect the battery’s performance if I use it while being plugged in? or is the phone smart enough to bypass the battery and draw it’s power from computer?

The iPhones battery will continue to be charged while connected to a power source if the battery is not fully charged while the iPhone is being used, and if the battery is not fully charged the battery will take longer to charge while being used. After the battery is fully charged while remaining connected to a power source, charging will stop.

Yes, it will draw power from the computer and charge the battery.

To hopefully answer your question more directly, when the battery is charged it will stop charging and run on the power so it will not harm your batter or performance of the battery
