Bad and Good upgrade news. iPhone

Some days ago I downloaded and saved OS 3, electing not to then install it.
This morning as soon as I connected to iTunes the phone immediately started with the upgrade without any intervention on my part. I had wanted to keep 2.2.1 for a little longer to see how many had problems with the upgrade - but alas this chance has now vanished.
Now the good news is that the upgrade seems to have installed OK, and everything tried, so far, works.

I have seen so many complaints about the upgrade, giving the impression of possible disaster to all who try - so this may encourage others who are holding off the change to try it out.
