I have the iPone 4S, and my husband has the Android Blaze. We all know that iPones are much better, but I am a little jealous of his autmatic caller ID. When someone calls him that he doesn't have saved in his phonebook, it still pulls up the name and where the phone number is from. Can our iPhones do that?! If so, how!!??
Thank you!
Sometimes it will show the location of the number, but it doesn't pull up the name of the caller or who the number is registered to (if it's not in your contacts). You might have to contact your phone provider to see if that's something they can provide on their end.
No, and that's controlled by the carrier, not the phone. Most cell carriers don't transmit full CID info.

Actually, there is a popular app for Andorid called Mr. Number that will generaly pull up complete caller ID information. It's one of the few Android apps I miss.
I don't think the OP cared where the information came from but was more interested in the fact that it's possible to get the information on the Android.
I also believe that more and more cell carriers are transmitting complete caller ID information. My carrier has a preferences feature where I can designate, for each number on my account, what name should appear in caller ID. Of course, I can also opt out of having anything show.
