I purchased my iPhone from an Apple Retail Store and set up my AT&T account at the store. Now I get a "special customer offer" from AT&T trying to sell me LG and Nokia and HTC and Samsung. AT&T wouldn't know I exist (okay, that's naive, but you get what I mean) if I hadn't bought exactly what I want—an iPhone.

 

Am I the only one who finds this slimy?

Not sure what you think is unusual.

 

They now have your information.  You now get the same ads as everyone else who  is on their mailing list.
